Frequently Asked Questions

How can pool water be sanitized without chemicals ?

Regarding pool water treatment, several alternatives to chemicals are now available, which demonstrate good performance!

Have you heard of salt chlorinators?

If you don’t want to disinfect your pool water using so-called “chemical” chlorine, why not do it with natural chlorine? A salt chlorinator is a device that will transform salt, placed in the pool in advance of the process, into 100% natural chlorine! This type of device, which simply connects to your filtration circuit (after the filter), has excellent oxidising, disinfecting, antifungal and antibacterial capabilities.

Another indisputable advantage: this natural chlorine is not discharged into the environment, since under the effect of the sun’s rays it is again transformed into salt, after a while. And it can then be re-used again and again in the next treatment cycles...

Ionisers for copper/silver electrolysis are another option. Here the concept is a little different, because silver and copper ions are used in water.

Which other non-chemical treatment are available?

Some other options available for pool water treatment are:

Treatment with UV rays, using a special lamp emitting these rays, which will get rid of bacteria in a natural process,
Ozone treatment, which uses an ozone generator to emit this gas and kill viruses, germs, and eliminate other dirt polluting the pool water,
Active oxygen treatment, that you place in the pool yourself in the form of tablets, powder or granules to destroy organic matter.

Good to know: some of these treatments will not completely eliminate bacteria from the water, and must be combined with classic disinfectants. Consequently, it will not always be possible to completely avoid chemicals, but you can at least drastically reduce the quantities used.
